Vote for Willowbrook!

So, I have a huge favor to ask.  To be a part of the grass-roots effort to promote my small business, would you vote for Willowbrook Manor?  "The best of the Northwest" voting is coming to a close and I would love it if you could help Willowbrook make a statement to the judges.  The whole voting campaign is put on by Bellingham Alive magazine who's July publication featured a nice write-up on Willowbrook Manor!  (see below) I would love to send them the message that people like what they see.  And you can help!

It is pretty easy to vote.  Go to The Best of the Northwest and place your vote for Willowbrook Manor.  For your vote to count, you have to make 10 entries.  Conveniently, Willowbrook can fill 10 categories for you!  They are:
  • Best bakery / desert shop
  • Best coffee / tea shop
  • Best breakfast
  • Best garden
  • Best date night
  • Best wedding venue
  • Best Northwest destination
  • Best tourist attraction
  • Best corporate meeting space
  • Best lodging
Thank you so much for helping promote my little business!

Willowbrook is in the News!

Wow! Bellingham Alive did a nice little write-up on page 17 of their July magazine and made me feel 'bonafide'!  Then BE in Bellingham wrote a lovely blog about Willowbrook with beautiful pictures. When I read it, I thought, "I want to go there!"  I'm hoping you will feel the same.  My inbox gave me a nice surprise when the Cascade Loop Newsletter featured Willowbrook's High Camp as a must-do glamping experience!  And then last Saturday morning The Skagit Valley Herald featured an article about our bike tour of Northern State Hospital!  What a week!  A special thank you to Lauren and Kim, the journalists who joined us for tea and our debut bike tour of Northern State Hospital.  What a great day we had!

High Time for High Camp

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to camp.  I love the feel of the fresh air, the sounds of night, the feel of a fire, and being removed from the hustle and bustle of every-day life.  I don't mind roughing it, but I know a lot of people who do.  So I built High Camp!  Some people call it 'Glamping'. It is camping with wall-to-wall carpet, a romantic fireplace, hot and cold running water and luxurious towels and linens.  When I don't have guests, I try to sneak out to High Camp and enjoy a magical night's rest, waking early to the view of the willow and the chorus of birds.  It is a great place to be.  I hope you will come and stay!

Tea Cup Time ~

We had a family reunion in April and of course, we enjoyed tea together.  The rule for tea is you have to chose a cup that 'speaks to you'. (There are a LOT of cups to choose from) I was tickled to discover that my cousin Sarah chose my absolute favorite cup!
If you have a favorite tea cup and story, please share it with us!
I don't know what it is about this cup, but it is my favorite (in the non-sentimental category).  It is the one I choose when I'm having 'me-tea-time'. That is when I don't use a mug for morning tea, but take the time to fill a favorite tea pot enjoy a china cup and even a dainty creamer.  I like the fat bottom and scalloped top of this cup.  I cant remember where I got this one, but it speaks to me ~
