The 2020 Willowbrook Tea and Concert Series begins January 18th with guest violinist Sharyn Peterson and cellist Matthew Rehfeldt. English Tea is served at 6:00 at Willowbrook Manor and guests can choose to indulge in an elegant wine tasting experience in the cask room at Eaglehaven Winery beforehand at 5:00 (additional $10/person). The intimate concert is held in Willowbrook’s beautiful Tea Room. Reserve your table early as there is space for only 24 guests.
We are excited to announce the beginning of the Willowbrook Tea and Concert Series. Last year Sharyn Peterson embarked on a new adventure at Willowbrook with our first Chamber Music Dinner and Concert. She returns January 18th, along with Matt Rehfeldt. Sharyn will be playing violin and viola, and Matt will be playing cello and acoustic guitar. The concert will be an hour long and explore a variety of styles including classical, contemporary, jazz, love songs, and even some movie themes. Paired with a lovely English Tea and the atmosphere of the manor it will be night to remember. Reservations are limited, so book your spot today.
Sharyn Peterson is a versatile performer and experienced instrumental and choral group instructor for all ages. She has performed, directed, and Currently Director of Mt. Baker and Fidalgo Youth Symphonies, she is also active as an adjudicator and maintains an active career as a conductor, violin soloist, Concertmaster, music arranger, and recording artist. In 2004, she helped found Skagit Opera. She played several seasons as Concertmaster and orchestra agent. She has led concert tours to China, Portugal, Eastern Europe, Finland, Ireland, and Italy/Portugal. In China, she gave a Master Class in Bei Hua University, and taught a Summer Music Institute in Shanghai. She and her husband, Malcolm, have three times been guest artists at the Monte Verde Music Festival in Costa Rica. A highlight of her solo career was performing Fang Li’s Violin Concerto in Benaroya Hall, Seattle. Her most recent large-scale solo appearance was with the Rainier Symphony in the Brahms Violin Concerto. She often travels out of state performing on violin and voice at various Concerts and Conventions.
Matthew Rehfeldt is a cellist and guitarist. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands with a major in cello performance and a minor in classical guitar. He has performed as featured soloist with the Whatcom Symphony, the University of Redlands Chamber Orchestra, the Starry Night Orchestra and twice with the Skagit Symphony, including their Opening Night at McIntyre performance. Matt recently performed a concerto at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. In 2007, Matt was invited to perform as an international soloist and chamber musician in the Monteverde Music Festival in Costa Rica. In 2009, he was featured, live, performing on cello and guitar for National public radio with violinist Anna Schaad. He is a co-founding member of Trio Lumina and founder of the Bach to Rock concert series. Matt teaches cello and guitar in his private home studio and is currently a freelance cellist and guitarist performing regularly as soloist, principal cellist, classical and rock guitarist and chamber musician throughout Western Washington and abroad.
