My mom has taken on the role of ‘Napkin Smith’ of Willowbrook Manor. The napkins have never been pressed so nicely! There is actually something to ironing therapy, especially on a lovely patio surrounded by furry friends. Recently widowed, mom wears dad’s sweatshirt for warmth and comfort. She is adorable. #love

This is the special man in my life. Jim. He is the ‘behind the scenes” guy who goes about fixing and improving things here at Willowbrook. His free time is spent helping others. He is patient with me and helps facilitate my never-ending projects. Like Westley from The Princess Bride - “as you wish” is ‘Jim’. Constant. True. I feel safe with him. 💕❤️💕

Willowbrook Manor has a recent addition. Meet Penny! This is my mom’s dog. She arrived just a week after Georgie passed away. I don’t think she will be the cuddle-pup that Georgie was to Squidge, but they have become pals. They both love to walk the trail with me. I enjoy their company. #luvthosedogs

Group shot from last week’s ‘Skagit Valley Regulatory Roundtable’. I didn’t know what to expect when I attended and was surprised to discover that it was a forum for small businesses to voice the challenges they face in dealing with government agencies. The group I joined was diverse, but we shared common problems. It felt good to be able to converse together, and especially to know that we were there to have our voices heard. Thanks guys for making it a great evening! Joining the group were: Elle Hirotka from the Governor’s Office for Regulatory Innovation and Assistance who lead the conversation and took notes. Aracely Padilla from EA Painting, Jorge Estefan from EDASC with intern Blanca Ruiz, Chuck Messinger from Skagit Coordinated Entry, and Jonathan Carpenter Eells from RAIN Catalysts.
