This lovely ensemble came to me from a local woman

This lovely ensemble came to me from a local woman. She inherited them from her parents who worked as missionaries overseas. I connected with this woman, who was downsizing after the loss of her husband. I asked her for a picture of her parents that I could keep beside these treasures. My heart was touched with the devotion to God and fellowman that her mom and dad gave during their life. And I smile when I think about them taking time to enjoy tea together. This tea set quietly speaks to me of how we can find purpose through giving to others. We can find peace from taking time to enjoy tea.

The heavy-duty barrier that was supposed to allow

The heavy-duty barrier that was supposed to allow my Roman chamomile to grow weed-free is being pulled up this winter. The clover, wild daisies, deer vetch and canary grass made its way through this expensive attempt at weed control. It’s part of living in such a fertile valley- everything thrives here. The good thing is that German Chamomile grows taller than the weeds, and makes wonderful tea. Last years’ crop was beautiful with no weed barrier. Mark your calendar for Chamomile Harvest and Tea the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in July. It is a feel-good thing. #teatime #chamomile #willowbrookmanor

This is how we do business meetings at Willowbrook Manor. I’m excited to collaborate with Jen and Christina from Boys and Girls Club. Together we are planning summer farm field trips for students along with a chamomile harvest /fundraiser/ tea event in July. It is a feel-good kinda thing.
